Alameda Hospital offers a full range of surgical procedures including laser and laparoscopic procedures. Surgeons, anesthesiologists and surgical staff are available 24 hours a day.

Short-stay surgery is for patients whose surgery is performed on an outpatient basis. Friends and family are welcome during preparation and recovery.

General surgeons specialize in procedures of the abdomen such as the stomach, esophagus, bowel, liver, pancreas and gall bladder. They also treat patients with thyroid gland conditions, hernias, and diseases involving the skin and breast.

Alameda Hospitalʼs medical staff provides our community with some of the highest quality care in the Bay Area. Dr. John Lee recently joined our staff, augmenting our exceptional team of physicians providing comprehensive general surgical care.

General Surgeon

Dr. John H. Lee received his medical degree from the University of Vermont in 2006. Following medical school he completed his general surgery residency through the University of California San Francisco – East Bay General Surgery Residency Program. During his last year of residency, he served as Chief Resident. He also performed a rotation in Alameda Hospital’s Surgery Department through Kaiser’s General Surgery Program. Dr. Lee recently joined the Hospital staff and, with his colleague Dr. Celeda, provides patients comprehensive general surgical care. He and his family live in Alameda, fulfilling his desire to live and work on the Island.
